Not private enough for me. Skype is better or MSN, Yahoo. You don't like them you simply remove them from your list period.
Everyone has there own preference though. Some people would choose skype, or messenger, while others are a bit more leary. There are too many creeps in this world not to be a bit hesitant. So, if people wish to go into a chat room to converse with people they hardly know, to each there own. Just sayin.
Zone by phone is also a really good place for this sort of thing. I know people make a bit of money from these little chatlines that spring up all over the place, but I see so much promotion of it that I'm starting to be leary of them.
I'm kind of hesitant about chatlines myself. having said that, I'm private enough with my Skype/messenger info, and you'd better be a very, very special person to me to get my phone number and address, so chatlines are a little better than doing that. although, I've always wondered if your number is really private in those things. I tend to doubt it.
I don't trust them, either. I used to go on the one tell me provided in my younger days, but I've become a lot wiser since then.
I've called into "tell Me" before, but I've never actually chatted with anyone on it.

I agree with the last 2 posters..to a point.
I have met some nice people off a chatline, however I don't call them anymore cause of the crazy drama they offten become apart of. Also, the people on the said chatline tend to be the same people day after day night after night..and you start to think they don't have a life.
With that being said, I did used to go on the chatlines however I just simply got sick of it. I wasn't getting anything out of the conversations that were being held and I just lost interest.
And yes, to the person that mentioned about money being made off of the chatline you're right about that.
I used to sometimes call one of them in LA when I was out walking around drunk late at night when I was in college. I was only their for amusement's sake though. Well, a combination of amusement and sometimes a lift to my self esteem.
I only use skipe- and also msn. besides that i'm generally- personal. When it comes to chat- lines. i only- use the guide dog- one. but that is it.:

I used to call into ZBP a few years back, well till the numbers stopped working, i haven't used team talk or vt either. i prefer skype, well skype or twitter....

Same here. I haven't even checked my voicemail on ZBP lately. Most people know how to get a hold of me in other ways. Chatlines have their place, I'll give them that, but I prefer to text chat before voice chat whenever possible. In other words, you'll get my twitter/messenger info before you'll get my Skype info or phone number. also, I tend to prefer one on one chats with the rare exception of certain crowds, and although that's an option on a lot of chatlines, the more public forms are usually more encouraged.
